The Modis Solution: Provide consultants with required SAP, legacy systems expertise

This financial firm needed a new system that would provide more accurate financial data on a timelier basis. They initiated a project to convert legacy systems to the SAP Finance Accounting and Controlling module.

Modis assisted this client with the conversion of their financial legacy systems to the SAP module and also design the Advanced Business Application Programming processes that will be used once the conversion is completed. We provided SAP consultants with the expertise needed to ensure a smooth and efficient transition, while at the same time affording the client financial savings compared to having in-house technicians handle this project.

Using our screening and sourcing processes, Modis delivered candidates with the required SAP and ABAP backgrounds, even though candidates with the experience requested by the client were very limited at that time. Ultimately, the new SAP system provided the client with up-to-date and accurate financial data that they so desperately needed.

The Modis Solution: Assemble project team to evaluate structure, recommend changes

This financial services firm partners with an international network of approximately 60,000 full-time sales people and 136,000 independent agents throughout the world to reach the public. The firm hired Modis to develop a real-time system that would unite the company’s architecture and function in real-time, allowing its agents to provide quotes as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Modis assembled a Q&A team and a data modeler to determine what changes to the firm’s infrastructure architecture will be necessary to achieve their goals. Once implemented, the new web-based system allowed for instant deployment of new products among their agents and salespeople. Technologies used in this solution include MS Solutions, Rational Unified Process, Rational Suite, and .NET, all of which are part of the solutions and services we have provided.

This project levels the playing field for the firm’s agents who sell insurance for more than one company. The firm estimates it will save $20 million annually in distribution of paper-based materials alone.

The Modis Solution: Providing services in step with client’s development plans

More than 20 years ago, Modis earned an opportunity to deliver a 33-man project team to develop a complete credit card management system using COBOL and CICS for an Atlanta-based bank. The system had three major modules – Card Issue, Merchant Management and Collections.

The consultants who created the software later formed their own company to market it to other banks and credit unions. Since then, the software package has been sold to more than 50 banks and credit unions throughout the world. One of the largest users uses the software to process more than six million accounts. We have continued to serve the firm throughout several mergers and acquisitions.

Modis continues to provide consultants as needed to the firm to continue with the enhancement and implementation of the package. Five of the firm’s top managers are former Modis consultants.

The Modis Solution: Testing new PeopleSoft modules to ensure proper installation

This client’s Texas office was implementing a PeopleSoft-based centralized credit loss accounting system that tracks delinquent and foreclosure mortgage loans. They needed support for testing this mission-critical application.

Modis planned and executed the User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Stress Testing and compliance testing for the interfaces to the PeopleSoft Projects Module and for the integration between the PeopleSoft projects module and the PeopleSoft General Ledger. The resulting system provides the client with the ability to record and track mortgage information and accounting activity at a loan level from multiple legacy systems.

The Modis Solution: Deliver quality assurance consultants to perform needed testing

Modis worked with the client on an auto subsequent application, which provided online quotes for auto and home insurance, based on user and underwriter information input into the system.

This was a web-based application using Cool Gen on the main frame. Our consultants performed testing in a TSO environment using CLIST.

Modis engaged our Quality Assurance Solutions partner in order to deliver seven consultants with the technical and business background required by the client.
