The responsibility of a Java/J2EE Developer is the design, development and implementation of web based enterprise applications within the J2EE framework. The Java/J2EE Developer analyzes project specifications, designs logic, writes code, tests, debugs and documents software.

Other responsibilities of a Java/J2EE Developer include delivering development tasks while meeting deadlines. The developer will have to work efficiently in a team environment, and equally efficient alone and unsupervised. The Java/J2ee Developer must think logically and pay close attention to detail.

Often qualifications, skills and experience levels of a Java/J2EE Developer include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of and experience in UNIX and Windows
  • At least 8 years software development experience including at least 4 years experience coordinating large-scale software development teams
  • Websphere studio application
  • Java Coding Experience including at Java servlet coding
  • Solid experience with full life-cycle development, object-oriented analysis and design, UML. XML, software version control, software testing and coding standards and practices.
  • XML, JSP, EJB, DHTML, CSS, SQL Server, JavaScript coding
  • HTML coding
  • Expertise mentoring in Internet application development and design techniques
  • Systems software development experience
  • Experience in analysis, design, solution development and evaluation of alternatives
  • Coordinating all aspects of the software development lifecycle and workflow
