Major home improvement retailer depends on Modis for critical PeopleSoft upgrades Client Overview: National home improvement retailer Ranked among the Fortune 100, this retailer serves more than 10 million customers each week at locations throughout most of the United States. The company is one of the world’s largest home improvement retailers in the world. The Modis Solution: Support PeopleSoft upgrades, implementations as needed This client relies on multiple PeopleSoft modules for their back-office operations. As the company has expanded rapidly in the past few years, they have called on Modis to assist with numerous PeopleSoft production support and upgrade projects. Summaries of those projects include: Modis provided key personnel to a project team to perform complete upgrades to the PeopleSoft Financial suite supporting the client’s operations. We provided all levels of consultants from project managers to PeopleSoft specialists for the project. Modis assisted the client with a critical update of their operating version of PeopleSoft General Ledger. This update needed to be performed as quickly as possible, as PeopleSoft announced they would no longer support the client’s version in operation. PeopleSoft also did not support the migration path from the version in operation to the new, modern version Modis was to install. The client uses General Ledger as a reporting and analysis database, supporting more than 70 million rows of information. In order to ensure all of the data was migrated accurately, Modis first upgraded the client’s PeopleSoft to a more current version. Our consultants also developed customized program scripts to supplement the conventional upgrade tools as well. After two weeks of shakedown testing, our consultants migrated the application to the modern version. Modis later delivered a complete team of consultants to the client to manage updates for the PeopleSoft Financial and HRMS modules. These upgrades were coupled with a Budgets module implementation on an Essbase DB platform for On-Line Analytical Processing reporting capabilities. The client has called on Modis to provide consultants to support their IBM legacy mainframe systems in order to assign their own technicians to support PeopleSoft initiatives. The client also counts on Modis to fill a wide variety of general specialties such as client/server developers, UNIX, C and relationship-database management resources.
