Modis streamlines leading technology firm’s network administration processes Client Overview: California-based computer developer This company ignited the personal computer revolution in the ‘70s continues to be one of the industry’s leading innovators. Today, the company continues to set industry standards for innovation with award-winning desktop and notebook computers, operating system, and applications for both professional and personal use. The Modis Solution: Customized graphic user interface unifies network monitoring Modis assisted the client’s Operations group in the installation and configuration of an event-monitoring infrastructure tool. Our consultants also assisted the client in the development and deployment of an infrastructure for managing IT services. In addition, our consultants helped the client to define new workflows, and configured the tools to support them. The client’s director of operations, who was responsible for the project's deliverables, was extremely satisfied with Modis resources and services. Modis assisted the client with the installation of Openview. Modis customized the graphic user interface to have all network issues flagged at their fingertips using Openview, Network Node Manager, ITO/VPO/OVO, MeasureWare/MWA, Service Reporter, and SAP Smart Plug In. Modis also helped the client Incident and Problem Management Workflows and process consulting. The client saved approximately $300,000 a year since all monitoring abilities were combined to one graphic user interface, thus enabling one system administrator to monitor their network instead of four. Modis subcontracted the engagement under HP’s agreement with client, providing a team of five HP OpenView consultants. Modis reported directly to the customer, providing the project management as well as five technical resources. This engagement led to the creation of a dedicated practice within Modis focusing on OpenView solutions.
