Data modeler jobs require programmers/analysts to be able to design platforms that assist with the development and delivery of business intelligence projects. Typical positions usually entail a strong emphasis on code writing and testing, as well as overseeing the implementation of the proper solutions necessary for a company to continue its success. An individual will need to work with business teams, consulting them on what requirements they see as important and determine how to best meet those challenges in a productive and concrete way. Data modelers also need to gather information about end-users and find the best way to prepare and present specs on any business requirement that may arise. A strong understanding of scripting languages and database solutions are necessary for anyone in this position.
