Networking Jobs

There are several types of careers that exist in the field of computer networking. These careers include Network Administrators, Network Systems Managers, and Network Systems Engineers. The job responsibilities and salaries may differ among these jobs, but they are very similar in job responsibilities.

Network Administrators are typically responsible for configuring and managing local area networks (LAN) and possibly wide area networks (WAN). Administrators may also be required to maintain network security as well as troubleshoot various network-related issues. Network Systems Managers are usually responsible for supervising the work of administrators, technicians, and engineers. They are often charged with overseeing long-range planning and strategies.

Market conditions, experience, education, and skill level are a few of the variables that can influence the salary of these professionals. Technical certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, and other industry groups can be very helpful for prospective candidates in this occupational field.
