Essential Job Duties:
Interprets technical contract requirements and customer product specifications to identify system or product supportability objectives. Conducts assessments of customer system requirements to identify and allocate support elements (maintenance planning for system components; identify need for special test equipment and tools; identify customer skill levels to operate and maintain; identify facility requirements to store, maintain, and operate; and identity special packaging, storage, handling, and transportation of the system components).
Develops maintenance concepts and workflows for customer level of maintenance (may be up to five levels). Upon review of engineering design baseline provides supportability analysis feedback to design engineering. Make decisions and determinations establishing logistics requirements for proposed systems and prepares task and hardware estimates for proposed systems. Conducts level of repair analyses to determine which hardware and software is maintenance significant. Of those items determines extent of repair, replacement, or discard and the cost affected. Assesses system design, drawings, and other source documentation to create an indentured bill of maintenance items. Defines maintenance database elements/modules to capture the assessment. Documents analysis results in customer dictated logistic support analysis records according current MIL-STD requirements. Defines maintenance database elements and develops subprograms to assist in database report development. Conducts training and technical documentation needs assessments in accordance with customer requirements to define individual procedural steps, safety considerations, identify references, identify environment factors for additional assessment, and identify supporting tasks. Develops and documents conditions and standards for each identified task step. Develops training structure plan including schedules, course sequence, target audience, location information, and required resources. Develops operations and maintenance documentation and training material from the engineering baseline (design specifications, interface documents, acceptance test procedures, drawings and other source material) for each identified skill set. Conducts MIL-STD validation/verification activities for customer defined training or documentation. Conducts customer required operations and maintenance training courses. Performs post-production logistics functions, including spares procurement and replenishment; depot repairs and repair procedures; resource identification for depot requirements; system warranty administration; contractor logistics support planning and support; and logistics management information. Performs peer review of logistics products for at least one of the logistics engineering product areas: logistics analyses, technical documentation, and training material.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in engineering or science discipline plus five years related experience in maintenance planning or analysis, technical documentation development, instruction, and training development. Must have effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to use personal computer software such as spreadsheets and word processing programs. Must have experience in all logistics disciplines including LSA/LMI, spares calculations, provisioning requirements, technical documentation writing, validation, and verification, training preparation and conduct. Ability to interpret contract requirements. US Citizenship required.
