Content Management is a system that manages the text, graphics, video, and other content areas of websites. Individuals in content management positions are responsible for handling creating, editing, publishing, administrating, and removing website content. They are also responsible for managing multiple versions of content, applying review standards, designing and implementing new technology, developing solutions for customers, resolving customer problems, configuring software, performing web search data analysis, and managing security of web content.
Content managers must have excellent project management skills, great communication skills and be self-sufficient. They should also possess good customer service and professional writing skills, strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills and the ability to multitask and work under pressure. Individuals need extensive knowledge of computer systems and software, experience working with Web servers and version management systems, familiarity with JAVA, HTML, cookies, JavaScript, and other related applications, and the ability to work with a team.
