Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integrates all the information a company requires for its business operations including manufacturing, human resources, customer relationships, financials, and projects in a single database. To be successful, ERP requires a package of integrated business applications such as the Oracle E-Business Suite as well as talented ERP consultants and developers to deploy and maintain the system.
Oracle ERP developers should understand Oracle basics such as SQL and PL/SAQL, understand a number of the Oracle modules, and learn several tools to build extensions to Oracle applications. In addition, an ERP consultant must understand the flow of information through the company. After the system is installed, trainers are required to teach others how to use the system.
