Modis, a leader in the IT staffing industry, is working with a client to help them identify an Application Support Manager for a position located in Hudson, OH.   to join their technology-focused, and dynamic organization. This Business Analyst will work on a technology upgrade on a specific financial application platform.
 
Summary:
 
This company is the world leader in the design, manufacture, service and support of precision laboratory instrumentation and data acquisition/analysis software systems.
 
The Application Support Manager will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and displaying timely, knowledgeable resolutions to software related issues and questions.  This position will communicate incident resolution to customers, document troubleshooting efforts and escalate issues as appropriate.  In addition, you will manage a team of up to 3 Application Support Specialists.  
 
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and respond to customer technical software support requests by phone, remote connection, email or on-site visit
• Cultivate positive relationships with customers
• Communicate updates on issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction
• Manage and prioritize customer software issues
• Collaborate with internal departments to effectively resolve software issues
• Report and document software bugs to development team
• Document troubleshooting efforts and resolutions
• Perform installations and on-site training for customers globally as required
• Demonstrate or provide advice on software configuration to customers and agents
• Perform software development testing
• Stay informed on customer market conditions, prospects and competitive issues and communicate these trends to the Sales team
• Write scripts and reports for customer installations
• Visit current and potential customer sites to support post-sales at a technical level
• Utilize project management skills and tools to lead customer projects
• Act as subject matter expert concerning current software applications, development and interface between Alpha instruments and software
• Advise, mentor and lead less senior Software Support Specialists
 
Education – Experience – Qualifications:
 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required, Advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years software support work experience required
• Must be able to read, speak, and write English
• Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, both globally and domestically
• Expert knowledge of C#, HTML, JAVA and ASP.NET web based applications programming required
• Extensive experience working with PCs, current and legacy Microsoft software required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server and IIS required
• Excellent troubleshooting skill; proficiency differentiating between hardware/software issues
• Must be self-motivated and have a results and customer oriented approach to business
• Prior managerial experience strongly preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate within all levels of an organization is required
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and execute upon agreed strategy
• Must be customer-oriented
• Project management experience required
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with different cultures desired
• Experience working in the Rubber or Plastics industry is a plus
