Summary:
The role of the Application Systems Analyst is to provide production support services to users of our various applications, in addition to supporting future system configuration & development initiatives.  Activities include gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and system requirements as well as system analysis and application configuration.  The Application Systems Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling information and reports based on their findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to system or process issues.  This position will require the individual to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments. The Systems Analyst reports directly to the Manager of Applications and Project Support.
 
 
Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting, investigation, analysis, and evaluation of day-to-day problems to resolve system issues and track these issues using existing tracking system.
• Work with the User community and technical staff to develop permanent solutions to identified problems, or enhancements to existing business applications.
• Possess the ability to configure and/or customize applications or tools to fit varying business requirements and application support.
• Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.
• Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews and regression testing, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
• Provide systems analysis, technical recommendations, cost and time estimates, design, testing, validation and deployment support, making recommendations of new configuration/code or reusability of existing configuration/code
• Execute configuration/code changes to meet requirements.
• Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
• Understand the role of work processes; work with the business to simplify and standardize business processes that will meet the user community’s needs.
• Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.
• Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
• Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
• Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
• Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
• Work with the User community to ensure functional scripts are used for testing and training, user manuals are developed and/or updated to reflect the current state of business software, and develop and/or maintain test cases to ensure the proper scenarios are tested in order to fully test functionality of the software application.  
• Work with the User community to gather requirements for new development requests, analyze their needs, and suggest process improvements in order for them to effectively adapt their processes to the new software
• Provide regular updates to the Applications & Project Support Manager and when applicable Business contact on priorities, results, successes, and issues.
• Ensure that all necessary work is adequately addressed within required timeframes, and that customer needs and process quality measures are met.
• Understand the Information Systems infrastructure and how it relates to our current systems and future development initiatives.
 
 
Education / Experience:

• BA/BS in business, computer science, or IT- related field; or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years working in a business analysis, systems analyst, or similar role to build and support IT solutions with cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization
• Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and adhering to audit and project management policies and procedures.
• Experience using or supporting Sales Force, Oracle CPQ (Big Machines) or other CPQ.  They will train on these specific programs if you have experience with similar items
• 1-3 years of PL-SQL queries is a required.
• Technical background with object oriented programming experience is a plus.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and functional areas quickly to deliver best of breed solutions
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools - MS Office suite.
