An Applications Specialist job in Auburn Hills, MI is available through Modis Engineering. You will have the responsibility to ensure that Test / Trials are be done on adhesive application systems. The trials must be accomplished within specific time frames. The scope includes precise planning, assembling test, and documentation with new technologies. This is a direct hire opportunity. The hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with OT expected. The salary range for this position is between $50000 and $70000 per year.


Applications Specialist job responsibilities include:
• Independent and timely trial planning and execution of tests to our customer’s satisfaction. Transfer of technology to customers and sales support team
• Development of optimization of different configurations of equipment
• Documentation and presentation of the experiments to internal and external personal. Knowledge transfer and support of colleagues in the Global Innovation Centers around the world
• Development of products and processes utilizing test results and incorporating them into the design and/or development of the software (by handoff to the software engineering team). Help in the development of new adhesive dosing systems
• Validation of new software releases prior to rolling out into the field
• Customer support and training. After sales support/advanced service
• Frequent communication with Project Manager for trial time tracking. Working closely with Project Management team to satisfy customer needs. Manage delivery documents, e.g. Test reports, Technical overviews


QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma with mechanical, mechatronics, or electrical experience required
• The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years as robotics specialist or electronics experience.
• Must have extensive knowledge of at least one robot - Can be Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki, Nachi, etc. Robotic programming experience is also imperative
• Must have experience with teach pendants and full configuration of robots.
• Must have PLC experience - Can be with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, etc.
• Microsoft office experience at an advanced level. Must have solid Microsoft Office skills in Excel and Word. Will be running tests and recording results in excel spreadsheets.
• Must be able to read electrical and mechanical diagrams.
• Must be hands on.
• Ability to run a Bridgeport machines and lathes is preferred.

• Experience working in an industrial/engineering environment is preferred.
• Experience working within an international organization and adaptability to different cultures and traveling to different countries. Ability to travel abroad, have or willing to obtain a Passport
• Experienced with fieldbus systems (Ethernet IP, DeviceNet, Profibus,)
• Familiarity with quality management systems
• Analytic capability of thinking. High level of commitment. Self-initiative. Detail oriented and well organized. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player. Quick learner
• Familiarity with application systems in body in white or paint a plus
