We have numerous direct hire job openings for Background Investigator Mentors/Trainers in the DC area.  We are looking for someone with 1+ year of recent (within the past 18 months) OPM background investigation experience along with an active TS Clearance with SSBI to help our client train and mentor entry level Investigators.  If you’re looking for an opportunity to utilize your experience to move into a lead position, then this is the job for you!

Job Description:


  • 45% of the role will be conducting OPM field work as a new Background Investigator shadows you.  The other 45% of the role will be monitoring and evaluating the new Background Investigator as they conduct field work.  The remaining 10% will be conducting interviews for new Investigators provided by our Talent Acquisition team.
  • 1+ years of OPM Background Investigator experience
  • Must possess a current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Top-Secret level security clearance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Assist with conducting interviews for new investigators
  • Conduct check rides on current investigator staff to ensure proper procedures and guidelines are being followed
