The Business Analyst will often act in the role of team lead, stand-in for project manager and also works independently of architect much of the time to ensure projects maintain scope, and that the development team has all the information they need to keep the project moving. This is someone who is comfortable taking ownership in any area of the project as needed, and proactively working to maintain the client relationship, team integrity, while also seeking future business and consistently "selling" our services to the client. This is often the one role that remains constant through the life cycle of a new implementation project.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Can confidently lead meetings internally and with clients
  • Comfortable communicating directly with the client at any time
  • Will be responsible for leading 2-3-day discovery workshops to gather requirements for new projects
  • Will lead training sessions with the client project team, often independently
  • Passionate about CMS, content and solving customer's business objectives
  • Proven experience managing client relationships
  • Manages project scope - Is the voice of the business when development decisions must be made (as the SME of the overall business objectives); can make smart decisions on "cost" of development options and negotiate internally and externally for appropriate level of work to fulfill requirements
  • Comfortable guiding development team as the team lead - including UX designers, visual designers, back-end Java developers, the project manager and any QA resources. Also, often responsible for unblocking items with the client
  • Requires minimal time from an architect to specify development work as a project develops (they will work directly with an architect in the beginning of the project to define overall technical design and general functional requirements)
  • Will manage the package of requirements and documentation required for a client engagement.
  • Comfortable leading estimation sessions
  • Can work independently to create a user story and documentation strategy for a project
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Knowledge of how to gain new work with existing clients
  • Takes ownership for projects and works proactively with the project manager, engagement manager, and development team to manage the lifecycle of the project
  • Comfortable guiding junior business analysts as needed
  • Passionate about developing their practice for the Client.; to help improve overall professional services offered by our company

Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience required.
Experience: Content management or similar technical skill set is required
Consulting experience is preferred
Able to write technical documentation is required
Computer Skills: Strong computer skills necessary! Familiarity with Basecamp, JIRA and Confluence is preferred
