Business Development Manager
Overview:
Partner with a team of fellow BDM’s, Sales people, Capability Owners, and Service Owners to build a business growth pipeline and close Services deals for solutions in the US DoD and IC markets where data protection to regulatory standards is required. Role includes both classic Business Development, and also positioning and capture. This role will focus on the Managed and Cloud Services within the portfolio, and upon the US DoD and IC.
 
Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Sales organization to educate sales teams and develop sales opportunities requiring offers by providing deep portfolio and customer knowledge to guide positioning and capture.
• Partner with Sales to support them through Lead Identification and Deal Qualification phases, prior to full engagement for positioning and proposal.
• Partner with Sales on development of Approach, Proposal, Pricing, and Communication or Combined Services offering for tactical deal opportunities
• Lead strategy development of product, solution, and services integration to guide customers through IT transformation to most efficiently reach their business outcome goals. Leverage available funding paths, contracting vehicles, and consumption models to create the winning customer solution.
• Develop strategy to grow the business organically through renewals and expansion, and inorganically through new deal cultivation
• Develop and adapt sales collateral where necessary to equip the Sales team with At-a-Glance slick sheets, Battle Cards, and web-available selling tools and information
• Contribute to pro forma management (top line) through pipeline management and sales forecasting information
• Institute BD practices and methods to develop and manage opportunity pipeline, in synchronization with Sales via tools such as Sales Force and spreadsheets
• Locate and/or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
• Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, market intelligence analysis, and Price to Win evaluation; analyze options, resolve internal priorities, recommend investments.
• Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new capability with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating stakeholder needs and goals.
• Leverage existing processes, collateral, and service offering design that may exist in organizations serving other market segments, for our organization serving our market segment. Build internal relationships to enable inter-market collaboration.
• Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
• Build relationships and partnerships with internal service delivery teams to leverage efficiencies in all tasks such as collateral development, pricing tools, etc.
 
Minimum Requirements:
• TS/SCI Clearance for work with IC (current)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development Roles, in Information Technology and/or Managed Services industry, and within the US DoD and IC
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT
• Demonstrable record of success in an empowered environment (ex. taking initiative)
• A proven track record of business development or selling experience resulting in revenue growth over a significant investment of time into one or more companies
• Strong communication and presentation skills and experience

• Knowledge and experience with Shipley Capture or equivalent methodology for pipeline development/management
• Team oriented and quick relation
 
Lead and complete large-scale, client-driven projects. Communicate with clients and customers to determine their needs or requirements. Develop, design, and implement improved business processes or solutions to meet consumer expectations. Assist with budgeting and financial status reports.
