A Civil Water Treatment Design Engineer job in Dallas Fort Worth area is available courtesy of Modis Engineering and Technology. You will need a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university and eight plus years total professional experience as a Project Engineer, four of which were as a licensed PE, working on water, reuse and/or wastewater treatment-type work such as wastewater treatment plant expansion, rehab and planning. You will work with the Team and Group Leaders to support existing and future water, reuse & wastewater treatment processes and design projects. Must have a firm understanding of the engineering fundamentals as they relate to hydraulics and pump stations, wastewater design aspects such as preliminary and primary treatment, biological nutrient removal (BNR), solids treatment and odor control, and water treatment design aspects, such as chemical feed systems, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration, and the associated regulatory requirements. You will work on a major project and/or several projects of moderate scope with complex features. The Project Manager helps develop the Project Management Plan that includes the scope, budget, schedule, and resources required to complete the project and to meet the profit target. This position also has a marketing component. The Project Manager is expected to spend 5 to 15 percent of the time meeting with clients, working on proposals and developing client relationships. This position is expected to require travel about 20% of the time, including extended overnight stays.

Civil Water Treatment Design Engineer job responsibilities include:
• Performs project management of water, reuse & wastewater treatment-related projects, including planning, detail, design, and client and team coordination.
• Receives project assignments from the team and group leaders
• Assists with preparing proposals and presenting to clients
• Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with clients; Serves as the primary contact for the client during the project.
• Assists with preparation and negotiation of contractual agreements with clients
• Participates in selection of a project team
• Monitors project tasks to maintain budget, schedule and scope of work

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university
• Master’s Degree in Engineering with past coursework in hydraulics and wastewater/water treatment and design preferred
• Eight plus years total professional experience as a Project Engineer, four of which were as a licensed PE, working on water, reuse and/or wastewater treatment-type work such as wastewater treatment plant expansion, rehab and planning.
• Must be a licensed PE in the state of Texas, or able to get your PE license in Texas within 6 weeks.
• Active member of Water Environment Foundation (WEF) or Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT) or American Water Works Association (AWWA) preferred.
