  • This is a short-term contract, not to last longer than 4 – 5 months.
  • Candidates MUST be local to St. Louis. Relocation will not be offered.

Job Description

  • Looking for a high-performing, tech savvy communications professional knowledgeable about a variety of traditional and developing communications channels to develop communications for IT-related projects, services and initiatives independently, seeking support from management as needed.
  • Will develop communications plan, collateral and provide communications consultation while adhering to communications methodology as well as organizational formats and brand standards.
  • Provide day-to-day communications and communications plan execution for IT services, initiatives and programs within the Information Technology organization.
  • Develop collateral including (but not limited to) newsletter content, digital signage, email marketing, flyers, posters, articles, brochures, web content, social media content, press releases, presentations, talking points and similar items.
  • Write, edit, and adapt custom messaging for identified audiences while following well planned approaches and aggressive timelines.
  • Conduct copywriting, conceptualization, design, layout, updates to existing materials, and extensive text revisions.
  • Collaborate with internal technologists, project managers and campus partners on awareness campaigns and projects.

 
Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations)
  • 5 years of directly related professional work experience, including creating and executing communication plans
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental concepts, best practices and procedures of writing, communication, marketing, and public relations methods and techniques
  • Demonstrated experience developing, writing, and editing original work for a variety of communications channels, both print and digital (targeted email, web, social media, slide presentations, feature articles, news releases)
  • Successful experience performing audience analysis to identify perceived value of products/services
  • Successful experience providing communications consultation and support to help customers create, build and protect their reputation, products and services
  • Experience in design/visual communication
  • Understanding of basic graphic design principles
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, specifically Photoshop and InDesign
  • Understanding of basic email marketing principles and development
  • Experience working at an advanced level with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to interact and present to a diverse range of audiences
  • Able to comprehend complex technology concepts and translate into simplified key messages for general audience
  • Able to understand and assess political environment
