Location: Los Angeles, CA
Modis Burbank is looking for a Compliance Engineer for a client in the Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NSF, EMC and LVD. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a growing team with a strong possibility of advancement rapidly.
• Work with engineering team to ensure new and current products meet applicable UL safety requirements, NSF sanitation requirements and international safety, EMC, and LVD requirements.
• Provide clear communication on changes to regulatory requirements that might affect ongoing projects.
• Identifies applicable regulatory compliance requirements for new products.
• Create plans to obtain certifications.
• Conduct required research and analysis to protect the Intellectual Property.
• Draft or assist with drafting patent documents (e.g. specifications, claims & drawings) including patent prior art search to evaluate patentability.
• Others duties as assigned by supervisor
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or Electrical-Mechanical
• 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing / Engineering related fields
• Experience working with multiple global certifications such as UL, NSF, CE, EMC, LVD, etc.
• Experience with Solidworks 3D Modeling
• Experience coordinating compliance testing with certification agencies
• Experience with patent drafting, patent application, patent search or other patent-related activities.
• Knowledge and understanding of Prop 65 is a plus
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence,
and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic
equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency
distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques,
sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with
several abstract and concrete variables.
