We are recruiting for an Automation Developer in Rochester, NY.
 
Designs, builds and administers software responsible for product deployment automation. Evaluates, develops, and improves automation tools and processes to streamline the time from development to launch. Communicates the technical direction to, and consults with development and deployment teams in order to implement change.
 
General Responsibilities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Software Development Lifecycle.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and understanding of Continuous Delivery principles.
• Experience managing and configuring software deployment tools and processes.
• Experience with server (Windows or *nix) system administration preferred.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code principles and Configuration Management.
• Experience with Cloud and Container technologies.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to implement automation based on requirements, problem statements and use cases to drive increased efficiency for internal IT customers.
• Ability and desire to be a team player are required, and will be drawn upon extensively.
• Experience developing and configuring software applications.
• Experience with server (Windows or *nix) system administration.
• Collaborates with other groups within Information Technology to create and maintain build, deploy and release automation which embrace goals including consistency, quality, and reduced time to market.  This may include development on various platforms, adaptation of existing tools, and/or working with vendors.
• Identifies and drives investigation opportunities for improvements within the SDLC processes, providing recommendations to senior management.
• Consults on the purchase of technical equipment and external software vendor selection.
• Responds to questions from the IT organization.
• Investigates and drives resolution of issues to provide technical support for deployments inclusive of non-production and production environments.
• Acquires and utilizes strong technical and/or application knowledge to independently produce deliverables and recognizes the impact on design, documentation and system changes.
• Acts as a technical leader by making significant technical contributions in program changes and provides technical direction to development and deployment teams.
• Demonstrates versatility of knowledge and applies strong technical skill base to contribute to related applications outside specific area of expertise.
• Acts as a technical consultant to project teams in build, deploy and release automation space.  Proactively shares technical knowledge to cross-train other team members such as architects, solution leads or team members.
• Independently applies new technologies in condensed timeframes to advance business objectives.
• Participates in defining, selecting, and implementing technical direction to help meet business objectives.
• Offers advice and guidance to less experienced personnel in the Information Technology departments supporting the objectives of SDLC automation.
• Acts as a catalyst for change to improve application design, build, test, deployment and release processes.
• When needed, participates in the interview process and selection of external hires into the automation or development groups.
