Data Engineer - Ad Products - Entertainment Powerhouse
Job Description:
The Data Engineer will help to build long-term scalable database and reporting solutions which distills complex data sets into readily accessible interfaces for senior executives. This person possesses an in-depth understanding of databases, analytics systems and data sets. The role includes working on Enterprise Data Warehouse projects where multiple data sets are aggregated and then analyzed.
1. Migrate databases, logic, and reporting systems built in Access and Excel to long term automated systems built in Spark.
2. Work with multiple data sets: Adobe Analytics, FreeWheel, DFP, Hulu, Rentrak, comScore, Nielsen and answer complex questions about video consumption on all digital platforms
3. Create technical documentation
• Strong familiarity with Spark (using Scala)
• Working knowledge of various serialization formats (Parquet, AVRO, JSON, CSV, etc.)
• Experience debugging and optimizing Spark jobs
• Advanced knowledge in relational database and SQL
• Advanced Excel formula experience
• Advanced Access Database experience
• Experience working with HDFS, S3, Redshift, and Elastic MapReduce are preferred
• Qlikview, Tableau, SQL, Adobe Analytics, FreeWheel, DFP, comScore, Nielsen, Rentrak experience preferred.
• Computer Science degree (or similar) a plus
• Familiarity with Data Science tooling in Spark is a plus
• Experience in the advertising industry is a plus
• Excellent communication skills
