Daily responsibilities for this Application Production Support Analyst will include:
- Helping the team in maintenance activities and backups for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle-based RDBMS, and associated applications.
- Working the escalated (Tier 2, Tier 3) trouble tickets related to application and database performance.
- Driving continuous process improvement by developing and implementing operational best practices and automating manual tasks through scripting.
- Working with SQL Server and Oracle database systems – writing queries and scripts to understand database functions, procedures, processes, as well as database monitoring, troubleshooting and recovery.
- Automating  IT Operation processes including ETL, EDI, FTP, monitoring, maintenance patches, and application executions by using VB script, Powershell, or any other scripting language.
- Using monitoring tools to proactively identify trends and assist in mitigating issues before they make an operational impact
- Helping to update and maintain the IT Operations documentation with recommendations on updated process.
- Perform basic database administration tasks
- Assisting in the patching, upgrade and deployment teams for databases and applications
- Helping to manage the backup & recovery processes, including daily review of backup status and failure resolution
- Assisting the helpdesk in application implementation and support issues.
- Working with 3rd party vendors on product implementation and technical support, as needed.
- Providing Tier 2- Tier 3 troubleshooting and root cause analysis on overflow helpdesk tickets
- Required Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field
- ITIL v4  or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certifications are preferred
- 5+ years of professional experience required
- Exceptional root cause analysis, analytical troubleshooting and issue resolution skills
- Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server and /or Oracle Databases\
- Knowledge of SDLC operational processes and the application life cycle - from development to production
- Experienced in at least one scripting language (VB, Powershell, SCCM)
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies a plus
