Job Description:

Founded in 1993 – this company is a multi-channel retail company. They are a fast growing retail company with an excellent pool of technology engineers who love their jobs. To be a successful Database Developer in this environment, you need to be passionate and can juggle design, development, and troubleshooting activities primarily within an Agile/Scrum Oracle database environment.

Duties:

  • Analyze, define, design data models, code ETL’s, and verify database structures for the data warehouse projects.
  • Become a SME for your extensive knowledge and background with Oracle databases, general database theory and application, and skills with the full Oracle toolset.
  • Assist with database deployments, troubleshooting database issues (ex: performance problems), managing users, and other tasks.
  • Work with a Data Infrastructure staff that is highly proficient and agile and you will be providing Database Administration and Engineering support for this team.
  • Trace database performance issues, identify common and uncommon performance bottlenecks, and tune sql, pl/sql and database objects
  • Responsible for gathering input from the product owners and translating those ideas into robust conceptual and physical data models.

Requirements:

  • Years developing complex, reliable, professional database models for various functional domains in data warehouse projects/data transformations/loading using Oracle PL/SQL & SQL.
  • Experience with Oracle 11g/12c.
  • Experience designing and modeling data warehouse database objects and actions;
  • Highly developed skills for troubleshooting and solving database performance problems.
  • Experience performing Database Administration tasks, such as managing users and privileges, creating and modifying database objects, creating and modifying storage structures, etc.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in Data warehouse projects which utilized Microstrategy as their data presentation tool.
  • Data Analytics experience.
  • A track record of continued professional and technical growth.
  • Linux/UNIX administration skills and experience
  • Experience in a Scrum/Agile environment.
  • Hands on professional experience with Sql Server, T-SQL, MySql or any other non-oracle database.
