A Designer job in Hickory, North Carolina is available courtesy of Adecco. In order to be qualified for this opportunity you must have a minimum 2 year Technical Degree and also must have 3-5 years experience in equipment and tool design.

Designer job responsibilities include:

• Assist engineers and designers in the design, development, and prototyping of equipment and tooling for manual assembly processes.

Key responsibilities include:

- Routinely performs elementary design calculations; i.e., statics, hydraulics, power transmission .
- Provides accurate estimates of the time required and costs to complete assigned work.
- Follows construction of prototype equipment. Conducts tests, collects and evaluates data, and makes recommendations.
- Generates shop drawings and parts lists.
- Assembles complete machine design packages, checking drawings for accuracy and adding detail and assembly drawings where necessary.
- Ensures that all machine drawings conform to Corning Machine Drafting Standards .
- Confers with vendors in machining and selection of components.
- Assures successful implementation of all project objectives by rigorously applying the Project Management processes

Required Skills
1. 3-5 years experienced in equipment and tool design.
2. Proficient project management skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
3. Use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
4. Use of PTC Creo

Education and Experience
• Minimum 2 year technical degree in an applicable discipline.

Soft Skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Personal initiative and commitment.
• Organized with good planning and time management skills.
• Ability to build relationships within cross functional groups; team building skills, positive attitude, flexible and good work ethic
