Job Overview and Essential Functions:
• We are looking for a DevOps Engineer for the Platform-as-a-Service group. The engineer will be responsible for a support of marketing platform running in AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment.
• Manage production wordpress stacks on AWS - patch management through Chef, automated infrastructure creation using ruby and cloudformation, operational on call support, debugging issues (database, linux server issues etc.)
• Support customer wordpress request for backups, plugin installations, scripting
• Chef cookbook development
Must Have Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of equivalent work experience.
• Must be a strong Ruby developer
• Must know Chef
• Must have prior experience with AWS
• Must be familiar with Jenkins, RunDeck, Atlassian Suite, Pivotal Tracker, Vagrant, Maven, Git
• Be familiar with Automation technologies such as Chef and Puppet.
• Hands on experience with at least one of the scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, or Python Additional Qualificaitons:
• Be versed in Cloud and Virtualization environments such as Azure, Google Cloud Engine, IBM Softlayer
• Proficient in Linux and OS X
• Some experience coding in Java, Javascript (Node.js)
• Have working knowledge of security standards/setup in the Cloud environment
• Have experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiar with Agile, Lean, DevOps, TDD and paired programming methodologies
• Knowledge of Docker and Automated Testing is a plus • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Preferred experience with HTML5
• Preferred experience with Docker and Cloud Foundry
• Have working knowledge of one of the monitoring tools such as Sensu, Consul, New Relic, Nagios, Zabbis, Dynatrace, AppDynamics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
