A DevOps Engineer job in Overland Park, KS is available through Modis. Are you experienced with deploying and maintaining highly
available and resilient AWS services as well as a strong understanding of Java applications and micro-services?
In this role you will Build automation and tooling to support the applications. You will Participate in all aspects of the software development
lifecycle including design, development and maintenance. You will work for a premier marketing and consumer products fulfillment company.
Experts in executing the most complex marketing programs on behalf of their clients, who include major television networks, movie studios,
theatrical exhibitors and high profile non-entertainment industry companies, each with unique needs, requirements and deadlines. This position offers

DevOps Engineer job in Overland Park, KS job responsibilities:

Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development and maintenance
Build automation and tooling to support the applications
Respond to system outages in a timely manner
Oversee and maintain development and production environments
Follow set policies and procedures to ensure a required level of security is enforced
Constantly monitor environments for performance and security issues
Utilize specified technologies to support software applications
Participate in availability, disaster recovery and capacity planning
Conduct or participate in evaluation of new technologies as well as productivity tools utilized by the team.
Create proof of concept implementations as necessary.
Provide customer troubleshooting and support as necessary
Function independently or as a part of a team to achieve set goals
Innovate and advocate new technologies and industry trends or standards


AWS Services: EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, ECR, VPC, IAM, CLI, Redshift, Redis (AWS certified is a plus)
Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent experience

Technical Expertise: Linux (ssh, including bash/shell scripting); Ubuntu/MySql; Docker; Puppet, Foreman a plus;
Tomcat, Nginx, RabbitMQ, Apache, IIS, PHP, Ruby, Java, DNS, LDAP, Nagios, VmWare; Other AWS services a plus: RDS (Postgres),
CloudFront, Route53, CloudWatch; Kubernetes (kops, lego) or MESOS; Git(Github), Subversion, Bamboo, Crowd, Jira, Confluence,
Artifactory, Fortinet; Managing Mongo DB instances – Installation, Day to day maintenance, Backup, Restore and troubleshooting;
Postgres a plus; Terraform a plus; Scripting using Python, Go, or other a plus; Familiarity with Javascript, NodeJS; Familiarity with Java a plus;
NPM or Yarn a plus; Gradle a plus
CI/CD automation using Travis CI or Jenkins or similar
NGINX Server – Installation, Configuration with app and day to day management
Proficiency with log monitoring and analytics using solutions like SumoLogic, Splunk or CloudWatch
