Director of Internet and Telecommunications job in High Point, NC (Greensboro, NC area)
Modis is seeking to fill a Director of Internet and Telecommunications job in High Point, NC (Greensboro, NC area). The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership and responsible oversight for customer-facing technology by taking end-to-end ownership of the communications technology group. Guarantees that this group meets company objectives of competitive technology offerings, platinum reliability and customer service while optimizing the efficiency of this organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Comprehensively understands modern Communication Service Provider (CSP) capabilities, the strategic direction of our competitors and the required technical architectures to remain competitive.
• Works with the business to strategize on technologies and service offerings that move/keep the company on a competitive footing.
• Understands and demonstrates abilities in the areas of L1 CSP technologies and processes, VoIP, enterprise and CSP networking (e.g. MPLS, TCP/IP, IP routing protocols, peering concepts, DSL/vDSL, SONET, etc.) and datacenter technologies (LAN switching, spine/leaf, SAN, Virtualization, directory services, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
• Demonstrates abilities in management best practices, including personnel goal/business objectives alignment, coaching/mentoring, leadership development, delegation & accountability management, budgeting/Capex/OpEx management, etc.
• Possesses a continuous improvement mindset with a demonstrated ability to pick metrics that matter, provide meaningful interpretation of those metrics and provide the leadership required to manage those metrics to objectives.
• Sets ‘the bar’ high with respect to personal excellence, leadership development and exhibition of core values.
• Performs additional duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly and indirectly supervises.

Knowledge and Skill Required:
Bachelor’ Degree (BA) or Master’s Degree (MA) or equivalent, or greater than ten years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
Networking certifications that demonstrate a ‘professional’ level of technical knowledge a plus.
Language Skills- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Computer Skills–Payroll Software, Spreadsheet Software, Word Processing Software
