Location: Calabasas, CA
Modis Burbank is looking for a Director of Product Management for a great client in Calabasas. A Director of Product Management is responsible for a business’s product planning and execution all through the lifecycle of the business. This is inclusive of gathering and prioritizing requirements for the product, defining the vision for the product, and collaborating with other managers from the development, marketing, sales, and operations in order to ensure that the financial and end user satisfaction goals are met. In addition to this, the Director of Product Management also ensures that the company’s overall strategy and goals are supported by those of the product; that the product goals and strategy do not deviate from that of the business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• The Director of Product Management oversees and ensures that the functions of the Product Managers, Senior and Junior Business Analysts, are efficiently and effectively executed
• Manage, coach, mentor, and grow the Product Team
• Develop KPIs for business analyst team, and ensure the tracking to evaluate the resource performance
• Drive the product vision and roadmap through collaboration with department heads and technology team
• Build strategic product plans that consider users, the business, and the broader competitive landscape
• The Director of Product Management, alongside other peers, is responsible for developing, defining, and overseeing the product’s roadmap and managing it as required for the purpose of meeting deliverables for the business. At this capacity, the Director of Product Management also incorporates the existing development backlog and makes priorities as determined by the business needs
• Ensure effective and proactive communication to management including status reports and executive reports
• The Director of Product Management is responsible for conducting market research and identifying new technologies that further aids the business in understanding current and future product needs.
• Manage and mentor team of business analysts
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies is a plus
• Real Estate or Mortgage experience is a plus
• Data modeling is a plus
• Passion for identifying and solving business problems
• The Director of Product Management has to have a master’s Degree in Product Leadership, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or an equivalent in work experience
• A suitable candidate will have 7-10 years of experience as a business analyst or product manager. He/she will also have a proven track record in product planning, defining and launching successful products, and unifying product portfolios. Also, candidates will need to show that they have had experience in thought leadership in order to be better positioned to drive and inspire such an important department.
• Deep understanding of the scrum and agile development process is required
• Strong ability to develop project schedules and set project milestones
• Ability to meet commitments, build consensus, negotiate resolutions, and garner respect from other teams
• Ability to evaluate and authorize proposed solutions and strategies by product managers and business analysts
• Excellent people skills
• Excellent presentation skills and comfortable presenting to senior leadership
• Strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational requirements
• Knowledge and understanding of Business and Process Analysis best practices, techniques and tools, and project management methodologies
• Ability to create data flow diagrams (DFD)
• Basic programming, development, or technical knowledge
• Strong communication skills, written and oral
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and think critically
• Ability to work with offshore team
