A key position for Littler’s Global Services Center is the Director of Security Operations in the greater Kansas City, MO area.  
 

The Role
Director of Security Operations will oversee a team of individuals that design, develop, deploy, and operate security solutions that protect the Firm and our clients..  The Director will ensure the Firm complies with its legal obligations, the lawyers’ ethical obligations, and client’s increasingly stringent demands for protecting their sensitive information.  In this role, you will manage professional and technical staff responsible for information security, including Identity and Access Management, encryption, application security, vulnerability assessment and remediation, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity planning. The Director will lead the implementation of data security procedures and products across Littler’s operations in the US, Canada, and Mexico, and you will assist with the security posture of Littler Global’s operations in other countries.  The person in this role drives and implements change, continuous improvement, and automation that enable the long-term success of our Firm, employees, and clients. Maintains breadth and depth of perspective, utilizing enterprise and industry/market trends, and specifically in the realm of public cloud computing. Sets department direction and motivates staff to achieve direction.
This position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer and also reports (dotted line) to the Firm’s Chief Information Security Officer.    
 
Your day-to-day
•Develops and implements business and/or IT vision, notably a secure cloud migration; critical success factors and operating plans; develops and communicates department/enterprise vision, strategies; develops high level migration plans.
•Anticipates and manages technology evolution and relates it to business solutions. Sets direction based on alignment to business and overall technology standards. Leverage Agile principles to achieve business and IT vision.
•Leverage public cloud provider services and automation afforded by public cloud migration to transform and build upon existing security practices and approaches.
•Provide strategic risk guidance for IT projects, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls.
•Monitor the external threat environment for emerging threats, and advise stakeholders on the appropriate course of action.
•Partnering with the Security Architect, Technology Leadership Team and CISO to oversee a team of individuals that develop and deploy security solutions to ensure that our customer data is protected.
•Lead the security incident response process, including the ongoing monitoring of threats and vulnerabilities, and response to security events.
•Lead the development and/or maintenance of the security monitoring and incident response strategy; develop plans that align with the strategy.
•Work with corporate groups, practice groups, and other IT groups to ensure new services and products include security and privacy by design.
•Manage the development and implementation of policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the ongoing maintenance of security in compliance with Firm’s information security control framework, risk tolerance, and information governance policies.
•Drive awareness and education for security initiatives.
•Drive the Company-wide disaster recovery and business continuity planning and risk mitigation.
•Work with other IT leaders to prioritize security initiatives and spending based on risk management.
•Manage security metrics reporting with accurate details on common security metrics, vulnerabilities, patch levels, asset inventories, etc.
•Ensure up-to-date architectural diagrams and data flows are available for all key systems, repositories, and outsourced services.
•Coordinate successful annual disaster recovery tests.
•Oversee and manage Change Management Program for Firm’s IT department.
 
What you bring to the Team
•Proven ability to develop and lead distributed teams
•5+ years leading the Information security team at professional services or similar company.
•Successful experience interacting with customers on behalf of the company.
•Proven record of accomplishment of instituting and managing security initiatives in a service-centric or professional services company.
•Experience in designing enterprise-wide information security technology capabilities, processes, and organizational structures.
•Experience with intrusion detection systems and forensics tools.
•Knowledge of many real-world attack and mitigation types.
•Experience teaching and applying security-engineering practices to application development staff.
•Experience with a variety of security testing methodologies.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand complex problems while formally presenting them to audiences of varying technical knowledge.
•Strong knowledge of incident response and crisis management; ability to identify both tactical and strategic solutions.
•Able to influence at all levels of the organization.
•Willingness to be hands-on as appropriate to in support of company objectives.
•Undergraduate or Master’s degree in technical discipline
 
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
•Knowledge of information security and privacy standards, including ISO 27001/2, SSAE16/18, Trust Service Principles, NIST standards and Cybersecurity Framework, Hitrust, FISMA, etc.
•Experience working with and successfully managing Managed Security Services provider relationship.
•Experience managing security of public and private cloud environments and including data from such environments in overall security monitoring and reporting .
•Demonstrated ability to organize team resources to execute multiple projects and requests, and achieve identified timelines while meeting budgets.
•Demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of data, recognize trends, identify information risks and define policy, process, special projects, budgets and programmatic changes to address information risk, operational improvements, and technology needs.
•Demonstrated ability to develop strategic roadmaps, identify specific projects to achieve roadmap, and gain peer and Firm leadership support. Demonstrated knowledge of project management and planning approaches to enable accurate planning, budgeting and resourcing to achieve results.
•Demonstrated ability to manage third party relationships, including identification, evaluation, contract negotiations and later management of vendors.
•Demonstrated ability to drive issues to resolution by identifying obstacles and working Shareholders and Corporate Leaders to develop solutions.
