A direct-hire, Drainage Civil Engineer position in Houston, TX is available through Modis IT & Engineering with one of the State’s established and premier engineering firms. Your scope of work will include: watershed hydrologic analyses for outfall master planning, flood control conveyance and detention facility design; H&H analyses; proposals, scopes of work and project cost estimates; storm sewer modeling/design, erosion and scour analyses, and preparing drainage report documents.
Civil Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of drainage construction plans and specifications for detention basins, channels and roadway projects, drainage impact studies and engineering reports.  
  • Perform engineering analysis associated with stormwater infrastructure improvements and evaluation of existing conditions.
  • Perform quantity calculations and produce/check engineering analytical data and related information to assure the design and any technical reports are accurate.
  • Responsible for the management and delivery of Flood Risk Management, Land Drainage and highway drainage projects.


  • B. S. in Civil Engineer with P.E. License
  • Construction management experience is required.  
  • Experience in the following software programs:
  • AutoCad; HEC-RAS; HEC-HMS; SP SWMM (preferred); Microstation 9 (preferred); & Microsoft Office
