Electrical Controls Design Engineer role is available at Anaheim, CA through Modis. The successful candidate will be responsible for specifying electrical components and controls for custom automation equipment. Position is responsible for design of automation equipment to ensure stipulated specification and requirements are met, and delivered within budget and on time. The annual salary depending on experience is $90K - $100K.
Electrical Controls Design Engineer Responsibilities:
• Work with manager and/or PM to provide information that will aid in the initial quoting process.
• Generate design drawings, electrical schematics, and installation and/or user manuals; a complete understanding of AutoCAD design tool is essential.
• Be responsible for directing the Design Engineer I and Technicians on their assigned projects.
• Provide technical support for all manufacturing builds including engineering prototypes, NPI & production releases.
• Ensure design for manufacturability.
• Assist and drive trouble shooting efforts for automated equipment in production lines.
• Have extensive experience with pneumatic design including: FRLs, valves, cylinders, flow controls, etc.
• Have a good understanding of Communication Protocols: Serial, Ethernet, USB, etc.

Required Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
• Minimum of 4-7 years of related experience and/or training
• Perform and analyze circuit design unassisted from start to finish.
• Expertise in designing AC and DC electrical controls for robotic and pick and place automation equipment.
• Able to specify electrical components and sub systems including: motors, power supplies, I/O systems, sensors etc.
• Experience with robotic systems and deployment of robotics in sophisticated applications.
• Proficient in designing control systems for complex automation equipment.
• Experience with vision systems and integrating vision application in robotic systems.
• Proficient in power distribution designs for control panels.
• Expert in AutoCAD and creation of schematics.
• Design and deploy motion control systems in complex applications.
• Experience in software packages for PLC, VB.NET and robotics including Adept, Fanuc and Epson.
