An Engine Support Specialist job in Renton, WA is available courtesy of Modis Engineering. This job will be at our client, a Fortune 500, world renown diesel truck company. For this job, you must have either an Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or similar degree. Hands on diesel repair and maintenance experience from school or in the field is a must. In this job you will become an expert on our client’s diesel Engines, provide accurate and quick support to Dealer Technicians, provide detailed data to all divisions on emerging issues related to Engines and After Treatment System, and act as the first warning team across all client’s Divisions. In this position you will build, test and help to design wire harnesses for engine prototypes. This is a contract-to-hire position. The pay rate range is between $26.00 and $36.00 per hour and depends upon experience.

Engine Support Specialist job responsibilities include:

- Log file data, customer complaints, and technicians’ previous trouble shooting results to provide rapid and accurate technical and diagnostic support, using our internal case management tool. Follow-up on repair progress to ensure customer’s truck is returned to service as quickly as possible. Escalate as appropriate complicated issues to Field Service Engineers, Advanced Diagnostic Engineering, Technical Document Specialists, Customer Service Managers, and Internal Management Team.
- Provide detailed documentation to appropriate division on product improvements. Identify gaps or inaccurate information. Report as appropriate customers concerns and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Maintain client’s engine certifications.
- Work with multiple divisions to certify and test new diagnostic tools or improvements to existing tools and support continuous improvement teams
- Software Support on engine applications that require special approvals, additional research or are regulated by government agencies. Provide instructions and updates to dealer technicians on these situations.


Qualifications:

- Must have an Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or similar degree
- Must have hands on diesel repair and maintenance experience. Professional experience is preferred.
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams with understanding of electrical theory and circuitry.
- Ability to work under limited supervision and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong PC skills and proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
- Proficient typing ability.
- Understand complex electrical and mechanical systems with ability to diagnose inefficiencies in these systems.
- Strong customer service skills or ability to perform customer service.
- Strong team-oriented behavior.
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical skills.
- Ability to maintain technical certifications.
- Willingness to work in 24/7 environment with changing schedules and requirements.
- Knowledge of industry diagnostic tools and current EPA requirements including OBD (On Board Diagnostics) preferred.
