A GIS Python Developer job in Memphis, TN is available courtesy of Modis Engineering and Technology on a contract-to-hire basis. To be considered for this position you must possess a Bachelors degree in a related field along with three years experience working with GIS systems, two years experience with Java, JSP, and Python programming languages and must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder available for W2 and have maintained a US residence the past five years. In this position you will be designing, developing and implementing web-based GIS applications utilizing ESRI tools. You will further be creating, analyzing, and maintaining maps, data and reports. This position will pay between $40 to $43/hr.

Please Note: This position will require the ability to pass a federal agency specific background check. U.S. residency restrictions will apply. Need to be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder for the past 5 years. They cannot employ on corp-to-corp.

GIS Python Developer job responsibilities include:
- Create, analyze, and maintain maps, data, and reports
- Develop, plan, and implement complex GIS applications software for the system users and operators
- Design and develop complex GIS database models and templates
- Write, edit, install, and verify programs for debugged and edits programs for accessing, maintaining, linking and populating databases
- Administer GIS servers and workstations by installing and troubleshooting system software and programs and administer system access and security
- Perform image processing and editing to transform vertical orthoimagery to usable GIS format
- Conduct database programming of relational databases, transportation modeling for project-based GIS tools used
- Write and/or present documentation supporting the web-based GIS efforts relating to this position
- Experience utilizing the following software to complete web-programming for GIS applications: ESRI ArcInfo/ workstation GIS software, ArcGIS JavaScript API, ArcGIS Network Analyst extension, ArcEditor, Advanced geocoding, ArcServer software, ArcGIS Mobile-software devices communication with GIS mobile devices, ESRI developer network (EDN) developer tools for scripting and software development, Oracle RDMS database.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. Computer Science, Geography or related field
- 3 years experience working with a GIS system or other enterprise Data Management system; analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must have 2 years of experience with Java, JSP and Python programming languages
- Experience coordinating GIS within a wide variety of organizations, groups, and individuals.
- 2 years of experience utilizing ArcGIS/ArcInfo Workstation (ArcMAP) GIS to QA/QC usable files from client Test program solutions
- Ability to obtain a clearance (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder available for W2 required)
- Must have US residence for past five years
