Our client seeks a talented and highly qualified hardware quality assurance engineer for a full-time, direct hire position in Fairfax County Virginia.
 
ROLE:
• Primary point of contact for all assigned customer affecting quality issues including product design, manufacturing workmanship issues, and component reliability issues.
• Interface effectively with contract manufacturers to investigate and resolve issues in new production or field returns
• Lead 8D Corrective Actions and Quality Issue investigations by interfacing with internal engineering, technical support groups and suppliers using the Agile system.
• Review all product change orders and participate in change control board (CCB)
• Drive process and product continual improvement by utilizing various quality methods including: root cause analysis, process mapping, 5S, kaizen, variation reduction, FMEA, and D.O.E.
• Perform statistical analysis as needed using a variety of software analysis tools including gage R&R, process capability, and Weibull analysis.
• Calculate fielded and predicted MTBF for assigned products
• Lead Material Review Board (MRB) efforts on product and process portfolio coordinating activities with teams and contract manufacturers
• Perform internal auditing for ISO 9001 and TL9000 requirements
• Assist with writing and maintaining internal process documentation to meet our ISO 9001/TL 9000 and NPI requirements.
• Perform technical out of box audits and source audits at Contract Manufacturing global sites on products to ensure quality of product in the field.
 
Requirements:
• BS in Engineering or Science with Electrical Engineering preferred
• 2-5 years of work experience
• Hands on skills with lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal source analyzer, data acquisition units.
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with RF is a plus
• 15% travel required - US and international
