Our leading insurance client located in Washington D.C. is currently seeking a Project Manager for an exciting contract opportunity!  This person will be managing a highly visible and significant project within the Employees Program Division of the client.
 
Specific duties of the Project Manager opportunity include:
• Responsible for managing entire project management life-cycle from initiation to closing for one of multiple projects utilizing either waterfall or Agile methodologies.
• Manages project reporting and transparency of project status for schedule, budget, risks, and issues. Provides monthly financial health assessment and coordinates Project forecasts.
• Facilitates planning and execution of the project’s activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time and quality goals are met.
• Responsible for creating and tracking project schedule and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
• Oversight of Project change control and escalation. Facilitates risk evaluation and development of mitigation plans to meet project objectives.
• Acts as the customer’s primary point of contact for the project.
• Results-driven and can be counted on to consistently deliver.
• Ensures appropriate corporate policies and procedures are adhered to during project execution.
 
Minimum requirements of the Project Manager include:
• 10+ years of Project Management experience including
• 4 or more years of progressive responsibility managing multiple small to large complex projects in a cross-functional environment
• 5 years of experience managing software development or other projects with a strong IT component.
• Agile/Scrum experience is required.
• Strong relationship management and excellent communication skills.
• Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills which bring clarity and precision at various decision-making meetings.
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. Clarity, MS Project, SharePoint repositories, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) if applicable)
• PMP Certification.
