Help Desk Engineer Job in Rochester NY:
Contract To Hire

The Help Desk Engineer provides analysis, troubleshooting, implementation and technical support to a wide array of business users across different levels of management. They will provide first and second level support for large customer base whose business functions rely primarily on computer-based technologies. The Help Desk Engineers will maintain expertise in current desktop and network technologies, as well as wide range of systems.
 
Requirements of the Help Desk Engineer job in Rochester NY:
•Ideal candidates will have a desire to work in a fast-paced, evolving IT support environment, with opportunity for career advancement.
•Associate’sdegree in related technical discipline and 3-4 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of experience is desired
•Prior Help Desk experience required.
•Advanced level of PC and Windows expertise and understanding (2-3 years hands on experience) particularly Microsoft Office suite of products and/or advanced level of expertise
•Intermediate understanding of LAN/WAN technologies.
•Exceptional customer service skills
•Advanced problem solving techniques including ability to troubleshoot without remote access to customer’s PC.
•Mac operating system knowledge preferred but not required.
•Utilizing tools such as remote control software, Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare, Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol and Exchange System Manager and will be responsible for management of domain and email account provisioning/home and share drive access.
 
Requirements of the Help Desk Engineer Job in Rochester NY:
•AAS degree and at least 2 years of hands on experience is the minimal requirement.  In lieu of degree, must have at least 4 years hands on experience to be considered, but degree is the preferred.
•Mustpossess a textable phone.
•Must have excellent technical troubleshooting capabilities.
•Must have excellent customer service skills and be a team player with a can-do attitude.
•Will often times be supporting a very sophisticated clientele that isn't necessarily technology savvy.
