Integration Developer in Rochester, NY
 
Position Summary:
We are recruiting a Sr. Analyst/Programmer to work in Information Technology as part of a program to replace an enterprise information system using Workday technology. This person will work on the design; development; configuration, testing; implementation; maintenance and upgrades of integrations supporting the core systems, both cloud-based and on premise.
Responsibilities:
This individual will:
• Design, evaluate, install; test and maintain integrations supporting core systems. Confer with technical personnel in systems analysis and applications planning to assess needs and recommends modifications and/or additions to existing integrations.
• Consult with users to understand and document business requirements; translate business requirements into configurable software components and rules.
• Perform analysis activities and participate in the creation of functional specifications.
• Perform program-level design activities (program flows, logic, file/database changes, etc). Create/participate in the creation of the system design specification under the direction of a more senior developer. Attend system design reviews and code walkthroughs.
• Understand student business processes including student records, curriculum management, advising and student records as well as participate in process modeling for related functions.
• Participate in the configuration and testing of proof of concept activities and associated tools.
• Prepare necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure conformance to departmental/corporate standards and procedures.
• Execute unit tests. Work closely with application testers on the preparation of test plans, test data and integrated unit testing.
• Maintain a broad knowledge of technology, equipment, and/or systems.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering; and 3-4 years of related experience, preferably 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in higher education field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet required deadlines
• Ability to actively participate in a team based organization
• Ability to translate business needs into solution requirements
• Good understanding and programming skills with J2EE, Boomi (or other orchestration tools), and Visual Studio preferred
• Experience in XML/XSLT required
• Strong understanding of the basics of Object Oriented programming required
• Experience in .Net programming preferred
• Good understanding Intranet based applications
• Demonstrated proficiency in Oracle on Unix DBMS and SQL Server environments
• Experience with Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle or similar ERP solution desirable
• Ability to provide on-call support as required
