IT Auditor Position Description:
Senior IT Auditor will evaluate information systems and operating procedures, assess business risks and evaluate effectiveness of district controls at the network, operating system, database, and application level to ensure accuracy of data and promote operational efficiency and security.  
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, information technology/computer science, business administration, finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience IT audit experience, preferably with a SAP system and preferably with some governmental accounting.
• CPA, CISA or CIA certification required.

• Identifies opportunities and presents effective oral or written communications to make recommendations to improve efficiency, security and effectiveness of internal controls and operating processes.
• Identifies relevant IT, operational and financial risks associated with the development, operation and use of IT; develops and communicates practical solutions and controls to mitigate these risks. Performs IT audit projects to achieve the scope, timing and objectives of each assignment.
• Performs reviews of IT general controls. Tests and determines if adequate standards are in place for system development, data center operations and security, data base management and security, network administration and overall information security.
• Performs application control and information security assessments on individual systems per plan.
• Provide technical support and training to the internal audit department particularly relevant technologies and audit techniques.
• Comprehends and interprets federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and board policies in order to identify instances of school non-compliance with such laws, rules, regulations and policy.
• Prepares and evaluates operational and compliance reports, with competent evidential support for opinions expressed as to the fair presentation of the reports.
• Conducts financial analyses and statistical sampling of transactions that will meet generally accepted audit standards as applicable to the particular audit project.
• May represent Internal Audit on IT organizational project teams, at management meetings and with external organizations and external accountants.
• Complies with continuing profession education requirements of the department and any
• professional certifications held and keeps up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
• Keeps the Senior Director, Internal Audit informed of critical issues and incidents within assigned audits and the department about which the appropriate officials should be aware.
• Follows the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines, executive limitations, the district’s instructional initiatives, and the school district’s charter guidelines.
• Follows the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
• Develop leadership in subordinates.
• Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
• Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
• Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
