Jr. Network Engineer Job in Phoenix Arizona
A fortune 500 financial company is look to fill a Jr. Network Engineer Job in Phoenix, AZ. Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of networked information systems. Must be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization, as well as with Business Partners. In depth knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, IP strategies, and all aspects of Cisco deployments is required. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Broad overall network experience is a plus, including Design, Engineering, Integration, and Operations. A CCIE certification is preferred but not required.
1.Supports the data network devices and related infrastructures by resolving simple trouble tickets assigned by the customer service center in a timely and efficient manner. Reviews day to day data network cases through internal ticketing systems. Must be able to support a wide range of networking products including Juniper and Cisco.
2. Assists in providing status reporting on data network services, performance, and capacity utilization to ensure optimum performance levels of data network systems across data/service center, extranet
3.Provides simple troubleshooting to data networking and routing issues. Ensures that problem resolution is completed in a timely manner.
4.Documents changes to system functions and/or configurations for technical and client reference guides.
5.Completes work assignments based on departmental priorities and data network systems criticality.
6.Participates in planning and testing of survivability, and in case of a real crisis may serve as a member of the disaster recovery process team.
7.Participate in network outage bridge calls manned by various IT support groups providing network support and guidance.
8.Maintains and increases technical knowledge by attending workshops and professional development activities and establishing personal networks.
9.Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.\
A general knowledge and understanding of telecommunications, networking and associated infrastructure as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or formal technical training. One to three years of general data networking and routing experience. Knowledge of best practices and understanding of general support in networking in both data center and branch environments, A general knowledge with managing technology in remote environments and working in a 24x7/high availability datacenter environment. Experience with Change Management and Service Level Management from a carrier perspective and also from a Schwab level. Must possess the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of datacenter environments required. Additionally, a general knowledge and proven skill with data networking devices required for operations as described above. May be called upon to assist with an outage and or event to restore services.
