SUMMARY:
 
Modis is partnering with a client of ours who is consistently rated as a top-5 best place to work in the country on their search to find a skilled and multi-talented Lead Digital Developer. While the role is predominantly hands-on development, it will also include operational and SDLC release management responsibilities. In addition, a small portion (around 10%) of the specific duties will revolve around support, though this will be limited to tier 3 escalations that may require code fixes, etc.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Manage/maintain the code base and technical direction for all web applications
• Research, identify and implement new technologies that improve the functionality and performance of sites or decrease costs and maintenance
• Perform development tasks, maintain and troubleshoot external websites as well as mobile and social media tools
• Drive for continual improvement of team processes, including version control, process control, backup management, documentation, requirements gathering, etc.
• Ensure the technical health of the application portfolio, quality of the program code standards and operational effectiveness from a technical standpoint
• Deliver expertise in the planning and design of application changes (including upgrades), and on delivery and deployment processes
• Manage deployments to production and test servers
• Assist in Configuring Akamai, Cloudinary, JIRA, Elastic Search and other 3rd party services
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, both onshore and offshore  
• Work with other IT groups (Infrastructure, DBAs, Security, etc.) to ensure optimal set up and management of sites
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience supporting and implementing systems
• Working knowledge of enterprise-level web content management systems, Tridion SDL is preferred
• 3-5 years developing and managing public websites and/or web applications
• Experience as a Technical software development lead for project related work
 
 
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
 
• Solid knowledge of technical web architectures (hosting, security, database, CMS, CDN)
• Strong experience developing standards-compliant Web applications using front-end Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, JSON, XML/XSL, etc.
• Expertise in Microsoft ASP.NET/MVC4, C#
• Experience working with external application development providers
• Experience with REST-based Web Services
• Background in database design and development with SQL Server, including T-SQL
• Background in mobile application development (native or responsive/adaptive Web apps) a plus
