A Lead Industrial Electrician job in Jacksonville, FL is available through Modis. This is a direct hire, long term job opportunity with an established, debt free company. Ideal Lead Industrial Electrician candidates will possess technical training in the form of an Associate's or Vocational Degree and at least 6 years of experience including supervising/leading a team. The Lead Industrial Electrician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical systems, apparatus, and electrical/electronic and mechanical components of industrial machinery and equipment; while providing technical support for all maintenance personnel and support and direction for the electrical team.

Duties of the Lead Industrial Electrician include but are not limited to:

Directs, tests and diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as PLCs, AC/DC drives, and motors; directs and assists in the repair of said apparatus
Creates and maintains electrical drawings and schematics
Plans layout and functions of controls, wiring, plumbing, systems, and power distribution
Provides support for special projects including but not limited to: component selection, controls recommendations, vendor recommendations, and installation
Requisitions tools, parts, and equipment as directed
Inspects completed work for conformance drawings, specifications, and safety
Maintains records and logs on all equipment
Maintains time and maintenance records as required
Routinely schedules and provides training to electrical personnel
May be required to assist other plants and accompany Engineering group to resolve issues
Suggests and initiates plans to improve electrical equipment performance
Provides training recommendations for self and maintenance personnel to Maintenance Manager and General Manager




Qualifications for the Lead Industrial Electrician are as follows:

Broad technical training in Electronics Technology or Industrial Electronics (high school + 1-3 years apprenticeship/applied trades training), 2-year degree preferred
Minimum of 6 years work-related experience
An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable
Strong working knowledge knowledge of AC/DC drives and PLC Logic
Ability to program as well as troubleshoot PLCs
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Windows 95)
