Overview
 
The Manager of Ambulatory Applications leads the strategy, design, integration, implementation and support of Clinical and Practice Management Applications in the Ambulatory space of Physician Practices. The position assigns and monitors the work of analysts and other managers engaged in support/project teams for Ambulatory Applications. As subject matter expert for the assigned application package(s), the Manager serves as an internal and external liaison between all stakeholders involved with the application including end users, vendors and implementation staff, and provides guidance and training to junior level staff. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief Information Officer.
 
Responsibilities
 


  • Manages the scope, cost, schedule, quality, and success of the Ambulatory IT Staff and Projects
  • Develops internal and external networking to grow the organization’s brand
  • Lead all aspects of projects implementation and support including the collaborations with Ambulatory IT Staff and other members of the IT Team
  • Communicate appropriately with other team directors with regards to shared work and dependencies across multiple groups
  • Supports Change Management Process
  • Leads issue resolution within and across team and escalate as appropriate
  • Establishes project team priorities in accordance with operational needs
  • Collaborates with the technical teams to coordinate software updates and changes and the review and testing of all new releases and enhancements
  • Fosters the engagement of the training staff (Super Users) by including them in team meetings and workflow validation
  • Promotes and supports continuous improvement collaborations with operational counterparts
  • Researches the viability of new functionality
  • Ensures the effectiveness of data interfacing into and out of Athena (and other applications)
  • Provides on-site support during go-lives and system upgrades
  • Assists with all Quality Assurance processes  
  • Participates and /or facilitates user meetings; participates in internal team meetings
  • Conducts performance reviews, prepares action plans, as appropriate, and supports professional development for assigned subordinates.

 
Qualifications
 

  • B.S. Computer science, Information Systems or related field
  • 5 - 7 years experience working with healthcare ambulatory applications  
  • Basic knowledge working with Medical Terminology
