Modis is actively searching for a Manufacturing Data Engineer for its premier Kirkland, Washington client.  
 
The candidate for this position will be the subject matter expert on our client's manufacturing Execution System (MES), leading efforts to maintain the system, manage data quality, report/analyze production data and lead the effort to maximize proper use of the MES systems. Critical emphasis on integration and communication between different systems. You will slice and dice data sets, move data between different locations and develop programs/scripts to automate the transactions of data to and from many different systems. Once the data is in the proper place, you’ll develop quick, simple and easy user interfaces used by office staff, executives and factory floor personnel doing their daily jobs. This role is highly customer-facing!
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related discipline, or 10 years general software/data engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing, industrial or ecommerce experience
  • Fourth Shift (MRP), Aegis FactoryLogix (MES) and Oracle Agile (PLM) experience highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Project Management principles, processes, tools and language preferred

 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must possess ETL or data integration experience
  • Parametric data pass/fail
  • Excellent knowledge of ASP.NET C#, COM interfaces and T-SQL
  • Knowledge of web application frameworks, such as MVC, Webform or others
  • Knowledge of general scripting languages, such as Javascript, batch or PowerShell
  • Experience with reading and managing existing legacy code to find bugs and solve them expeditiously
  • Source control and code versioning (SVN, Git, or other) experience
  • Experience with advanced analytics platforms such as Tableau, Microsoft BI or others preferred
  • Strong working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills (including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedure manuals – if applicable)
  • Strong teaming and collaboration skills
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment
  • Ability to function effectively in a rapidly changing and growing environment, including sifting through multiple and disparate requests from diverse sources to assess and execute core needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
