A Manufacturing Engineer job in West Bend, WI is available through Modis. You must have at least three years manufacturing experience with a focus on plastic forming, plastic cutting, plastic laser cutting, pad printing, hot stamping, injection molding, and in mold decoration. In this role you will be responsible for development, procurement, improvement and control of product tooling & manufacturing processes while working with Operations groups. Background in plastic and/or molding is a must.

Manufacturing Engineer job responsibilities include:
• Provide technical support to Product development team for new product launches (material selection, layout input, tool design, best process selection, risk assessment, feasibility, tooling quotes, etc.)
• Review product designs to determine IML feasibility and the processing steps necessary to produce the insert and molded product
• Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
• Work with Quality Engineering to perform Failure Mode Effect Analysis (P-FMEA) to identify potential failures and add poke-yokes to reduce the RPN’s.
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Provide injection mold tool design input for best IML processing to tooling vendors
• Qualify injection molders for IML experience and capabilities.
• Responsible for tool maintenance decisions using tool room personnel and tool makers.
• Responsible for ensuring quality and have authority to stop production and to correct quality concerns.
• Support operations with process issues, 4 step problem solving, and implement improvement plans.
• Ensure all environmental practices, policy, and requirements are followed and materials are handled and disposed of per appropriate procedures.
• Support ISO certification and all other quality programs.

• Use of project management and statistical process control tools, such as Six Sigma.
• Technical knowledge of printed materials and constructions
• Experience working with MS office tools, Solidworks, CAD,and statistical process control methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints.

Education Preferred:
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Lean Six Sigma green belt certification preferred.
• Chemistry and/or screen printing experience.
• Strong project engineering background.
