An Assembly Technician job in Newark, DE is available courtesy of Modis Engineering. This multi-faceted position is designed to assist the Production Team by maintaining a high standard of safety, quality and output consistent with the requirements of being a manufacture team member. The hourly pay rate is $16/hour and you work 2 days and get 3 days off.

Assembly Technician job responsibilities include;

Assist on a daily basis in these departments (raw material/Thermal/Prepreg) as the needs require.
Hand lay-up of composite parts in line with development and production requirements.
Operate the fiber winding machine to support the fabrication of wound parts.
Assist with loading and unloading parts to various thermal equipment.
Use of hand tools for the modifications of composite parts.
Use of appropriate personal protective equipment when working around parts on the shop floor.
Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or acceptable substitute.
1 year minimum experience in production operations.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing.
Knowledge of composite fabrication methods and techniques including filament winding and hand lay-up.
Creative problem solver, able to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
Self-directed with excellent organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in both R&D and production rate environments.
Experience with thermal processing
