Modis Burbank is looking for a Materials Plant Operator for a great client in Santa Clarita.  The Materials Plant Operator will be responsible for the operations and maintenance for a multiple equipment manufacturing/chemical plant.  The ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running and have some computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PLC software.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:   
• Qualified to operate a batch and a continual process utilizing various materials/chemicals in a plant environment   
• Work safely with multiple pieces of equipment including reactors, furnaces, pumps, distillation equipment, sieves, and centrifuges
• Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:  
• 2-5 years of chemical plant operations experience strongly preferred   
• Ability to read, understand, and follow operation instructions as well as generate basic reports
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-pace work environment   
• Experience in hazardous material handling   
• Complete understanding of chemical safety requirements   
• Ability to interact with diverse work force   
• Demonstrated examples of being accountable and team player   
• Knowledge of handling powders and/or solvents

• Proof of Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizenship documentation required.  
 
Education:
• Associate degree with emphasis in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields highly preferred.  
• Minimum High school with at least 2-5 years’ experience required.  
 
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift up to 30-45 pounds, requires sitting, standing, walking.  
• Position will require the use of a respirator at times.
