Modis has a current job opportunity for a Materials Technician Located In Danbury, CT.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide Manufacturing with necessary raw materials as required to maintain production schedule
Pull inventory corresponding with orders/pick lists and perform appropriate transactions;
Perform and track necessary transactions that reflect product moving from one location to another
Utilize FIFO methods to maintain inventory control
Perform daily/weekly cycle counts and assist in the review of root cause of variances
Create shipping reports, such as Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, Bill of Lading and other shipping/transportation related documentation;
Perform quality and accuracy verification of all boxes, pallets, labels and documentation on incoming shipments
Remove finished goods from temporary location to final storage location
Assist with the unloading of trucks containing incoming raw materials;
Perform receiving transactions for inventory products;
Work with Procurement/Planning in a timely fashion to resolve any purchase order issues
Appropriately label and deliver incoming materials to appropriate warehouse or department;
Communicate with Inventory Analyst on all Returned Materials (RMA) that require disposition; Effectively control flow and accuracy of materials to and from NON-NET inventory locations (MRB);
Look for Continuous Improvement opportunities in all areas of logistics and warehouse management;
Support Materials Manager and Logistics Supervisor in meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Delivery
Handle hazardous material, works safely and ensures the safety of co-workers, while striving for zero safety incidents;
Other duties as assigned by Materials Manager.


Qualifications:

3 – 5 years Logistics experience in a high-volume operation; some level of secondary education preferred;
Basic knowledge of domestic and international shipping methods;
Previous experience in receipt of incoming goods and returned materials;
Strong organizational skills;
ERP systems experience (SAP a plus), MS Word and Excel a must;
Cycle counting and inventory control methods.
