A NOC Technician job in Charleston, SC is available through Modis. In this role, our client is a fortune 500 company with room for growth and stability. We are looking for someone who is smart, dependable, driven and have a strong interest in an IT role.
 
NOC Technician job responsibilities include:
 
• Prepares written executive level incident notifications
• Travel will be necessary to collaborate with the team in Washington
• Part of a Team that delivers 7x24x365 application and service availability for applications hosted on multiple client sites and external environments
• Individuals receive and act upon all alerts for responsible infrastructure and applications within the target SLA times (2 minute response, 5 minute communication, 15 minute restore)
• 7x24x365 utilizing both direct and on-call support Coordinates and leads cross-functional teams via group telecon, individual engagements, email and other correspondence
• Determines impacts to customers, correlation to potential causes and executes low level mitigations
• Initiates engagement of resources to support service restoration
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Minimum skill level requires proficiency at speaking, reading, and writing in English at a level that is equivalent to a technical bachelor’s degree.
• Individuals must be flexible to changing shifts and times
• Requires ability to maintain a network of and work effectively with diverse individuals and teams
• Must have ability to escalate when support teams are not performing to established OLAs
• Must have expertise with Incident and Problem Management
• Must be able to understand complex IT architecture and infrastructure
• Must have the ability to work on-site and virtually in a high-stress environment utilizing standard IT tools (Blackberry, Laptop, MS Office Apps, etc)
• Must support on-call to 2nd and or 3rd shifts on days of shift.
• This is an additional ~20 hours to their 40 hours of shifted work and requires ability to get on-line to support incidents within 5 minutes of receiving alert
