Position Core Role:
Consistently identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Develop and execute activities/tasks to achieve strategic objectives. Collect data and apply business knowledge to solve a range of problems. Effectively lead project themes. Effectively sell ideas, securing buy-in from individuals or team. Demonstrate technical proficiency, with expertise on some topics, within technical area.

Responsibilities:
Support Parts Quality activities with dimensional analysis and problem solving of complex issues. Develop strategies to countermeasure errors. Assist suppliers with equipment and parts verification through creation of templates (CM4D) to graphically represent part data for (VSA) analysis. Review supplier equipment programs, develop schedule and data review. Review dimensional issues and concerns from manufacturing. Develop and implement countermeasure activity in-house and at suppliers. Review supplier data collection (fixtures, programs, associate technique, and data review) to establish consistent path forward. Evaluate and verify supplier new model welding equipment and fixtures. Interpret data and evaluate direction.

Daily Tasks:
Review concerns with manufacturing. Prioritize and schedule supplier support. Using available equipment, assess problem and implement countermeasures. Analyze supplier data. React to trends and develop action plan at supplier and in-house departments.

Experience:
Minimum of two years metrology and/or manufacturing experience.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and vehicle systems. Basic knowledge of portable layout equipment (CMM romer). General knowledge of fixture dynamics.

Required Skills:
Part measurement skills.
Ability to lead meetings and/or present technical information and reports.
Ability to read part drawings (blueprint reading).
Ability to use 2D and 3D CAD systems (CATIA, Enovia).
Ability to use QC tools (SPC, Pareto, X-R, etc.).

Degree:
Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Position Factors:
Willingness to travel up to 50% (average of 1.5 days per trip). Possible international travel (including Canada). Potential for last minute travel (crisis support). Willingness to work overtime (approximately 20-25 hours per month). Possible shift time adjustment to support trial builds during start-up periods.
