My client has a full-time permanent opportunity open for an Oracle/SQL Database Administrator located in Chicago’s Northwest suburbs! This organization is located near Barrington, IL and perfect for a Database Administrator looking for their next “home”!

The Oracle/SQL Database Administrator will maintain and support the Oracle Database and the Oracle Application Servers including Forms, JSP, and WebLogic that runs this organization’s Enterprise software (CMIC). This individual will also create, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL databases that may tie with the main Oracle database for integrating with 3rd party software. To be considered you must have the following experience:
• 5+ years experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
• Experience with T-SQL, ad-hoc queries and Oracle PL/SQL.
• Develop Oracle/SQL views and queries for extracting data from Oracle and Microsoft SQL
• Experience in writing Reports
 
Preferred Skills (not required, but preferred):
• Knowledge in Apache, WebLogic, Oracle Report/Form, and Jasper server  
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or similar
 
Key Responsibilities of this Database Administrator:
• Administer all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences,   packages and procedures.
• Install/deploy procedure packages and procedures.
• Install hot fixes/patches released by the software vendor during off working hours to avoid disrupting the business during the work hours.
• Monitor, maintain, and update the current database backup and restore procedures.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues.
• Perform database cloning when requested by end users.
• Write, modify, troubleshoot Jasper Reports and underlying views depending on the work load.
• Share CMIC helpdesk duties as part of the support team and with other IT team members in troubleshooting database or server related issues.
• Develop Oracle/SQL views and queries for extracting data from Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.
