Duties and responsibilities
• Set daily and weekly project goals
• Perform field survey
• Pull all required utility and ROW plats from permitting agencies.
• Review and approve accuracy of all field data (field notes and permitting agency requirements)
• Ability to successfully manage project schedules to include Permit submittals and approvals
• Coordinate with the CAD department representative
• Evaluate work product quality and standards control
• Coordinate, review, and verify daily, weekly, and monthly reports
• Prepare and acquisition of necessary permits and rights-of-way for OSP facilities
• Obtain, prepare and review field notes
• Feeder Route Analysis/Administration and development of appropriate feeder route strategies and solutions for feeder relief
• Liaison with various government agencies regarding the panning, placing, relocation, etc. of OSP facilities
• Customer contact: This includes such items as negotiating with Contractors/Developers for facility placement in new developments; attending meetings related to the projected impact on OSP facilities by public requirements projects, etc., whether in person or via telephone
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments
• This position requires travel time of approximately 50% of the time
• Perform other duties as assigned
These are the qualifications that are necessary to be considered for the position.
Qualifications include:
• Equivalent experience or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field is preferred
• 5+ years of engineering experience
• Must demonstrate a solid understanding of outside plant design
• Willingness to travel when a field visit is required
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices, Must be able to work with or without direct supervision.
